What services does Dorm Storage provide?
At Dorm Storage we provide pick up, storage and delivery of your college dorm items. We provide free packing supplies as well. Our secure storage is perfect for summer and study abroad programs.
FREE packing supplies? What's included?
We provide you with eight (8), 20x20x20 in boxes as well as a roll of packing tape. Along with that we provide you batching labels for each box for you to put your contact info and box number, ie. 1 of 8.
What if 8 boxes isn't enough? Or too much?
If 8 boxes is too many, we’ll gladly take back the unused materials. They’ll never go to waste and will help future students.
If 8 boxes are not enough, you can message our support team to inquire about recieving additional Dorm Storage supplies.
You are welcome to use your own additional boxes if necessary. If your personal boxes are larger than those provided you may incur additional fees of Dorm Plus.
How does Dorm Plus work?
Aside from the boxes we store for you, we can also accept SOME additional items. Examples of Dorm Plus items are bicycles, dorm fridges, vacuums and the like.
We do NOT store furniture. Sorry.
What can NOT be packed in boxes?
Items that should NOT be stored are food and drinks of any kind, batteries (need to be removed from all electronics), vape pens, and anything you may need while away from college. We will not be able to retrieve an item for you while in storage due to the sheer volume of students we serve.
How does delivery work for move in?
As we approach move in, we will send various communications for you to lock in a delivery date and time frame. It’s important you read all of our emails, texts and follow our news on social media.
Can somebody else receive my items if I can't be there?
Yes, however, we need to be notified regarding who will be signing off on the delivery. The person you choose to recieve your items will need to provide proof of ID.
We take great precaution caring of your personal items.
Can you explain curbside drop off?
With thousands of students moving in to their dorms in such a short time frame we made a promise to not get in the way. With building locks, ID requirements, stairwells jammed and elevators in use, we cannot add to the traffic.
All of that said, we will communicate with you during the drop off time frame and unload your items outside of your building for you to sign off and take over.
How will I know your ETA within the time frame?
Our drivers will reach out when they are in route. You will have ample time to meet them in front of your building.
If you, or your representitive, are not there for recipt of your items there will be an additional charge for rerouting the delivery.
Can I get my items before move in day?
You can. There will be an additional charge for this. You can inquire through our support team.

Move Out Day

How does move out day work?
Move out day varies and sometimes depends on the students final exam schedule. As we approach finals week, we will communicate with you regarding a scheduled pick up of your items. It’s important you read all the emails, text messages we send, as well as follow on social media for news and updates.
Will you pick up at our dorm room?
No. Out of respect for the university/college during such an important time of the academic year (finals) we have made a promise not to disturb daily operations. Once pick up is scheduled, we ask that you meet us outside your building with your items. After confirmation of pick up, we will securley store your tiems until move in day.
I can't fit everything in my boxes?
If you’re aware ahead of time (min 48 hrs before move out) we can arrange to provide you additional boxes. You would have to contact our support team for this.
My surfboard and skateboard doesn't fit in a box?
Our Dorm Plus option covers odd items like surfboards, skateboards, bicycles, athletic gear, standing lamps and dorm fridges. This does cost more and prepares us to protect these items in storage appropriately.
I'm not returning to school. Will you ship my items?
Yes. This is certainly a unique circumstance. If you contact support, we will work with UPS/FedEx/USPS to get you the best shipping costs to get your items to you.
Why don't you store furniture?
Most dorm furniture is usually constructed with particle board and plastic. For that reason, furniture tends to break in transit or handeling. We can’t take responsibility for such large fragile items. Off campus housing and larger furniture items such as couches, cannot be accepted at the moment.
Are their weight limits for the boxes?
The boxes need to be 50lbs or less. We understand that you may not be able to weigh your boxed items. If you adhear to the packing guidelines there shouldn’t be an issue.
Our biggest tip is to disperse the heavy items in different boxes. Especially your books. Try not to load them all in one box.
Where do you store my items?
We have a partnership with various storage facilities in the area. With almost 60k students at UCF alone, there is not a single warehouse option that could accomodate our service.
How do we schedule for off campus housing?
Off campus housing has the same boxing requirements as Basic Dorm and Dorm Plus. The difference is the cost. That depends on the location of pick up and drop off. Details can be found on the pricing page.
How long do you store our belongings?
The standard university summer term is 4 months. Our storage services are set to match that.
