Policies and Fees

STORAGE POLICY

The services provided by Dorm Storage LLC will include the pickup, transport, storage, and delivery of the Customer’s boxed belongings and specifically approved unboxed items. These belongings may include, but are not limited to, items such as boxes, dorm refrigerators, bicycles, surfboards, and other sports equipment as listed on the Company’s website. The included storage period for the Customer’s belongings is 4 months +/- depending on the college/university stated move-in/move-out dates. If items remain in storage beyond the predetermined period, the Customer will be responsible for an additional month of storage, and again every month thereafter. If requested, to receive the belongings by shipping method, the shipping and other handling fees will be instated in addition to the late fees.

 

PICKUP POLICY

Before Dorm Storage LLC’s pickup of the Customer’s belongings, the Customer or Customer Representative must be in the agreed upon pick up location within the specified time frame agreed upon during checkout. Dorm Storage LLC will communicate via email confirming dates, times, and location before pick-up date. If there is a cancellation, by the Customer within 72 hours of the scheduled pick-up, the Customer will be responsible for a $100 fee for cancelation.

 

DELIVERY POLICY

Delivery will be available to destinations within a specific distance of the college/university campus’s main entrance. The specific distance is noted on the school specific page. Dorm Storage LLC will store these belongings in a climate-controlled facility. The climate-controlled facility maintains a safe temperature and proper ventilation for all belongings stored.

 

PROHIBITED ITEMS

By using Dorm Storage LLC as your storage provider, you agree to NOT pack the following in any boxes or bins being submitted for storage. Items that are prohibited include, weapons, self-defense items, any food or drinks (perishable and non-perishable), vape devices, batteries (all batteries must be removed from electronic devices prior to packing), valuable items (jewelry, collectibles), and anything that would be considered fragile.

 

INSURANCE AND REFUNDS FOR LOST OR DAMAGED ITEMS

Dorm Storage LLC is only responsible for loss or damage caused by the negligence of Dorm Storage LLC or its employees or agents. Dorm Storage LLC is not responsible for items that are lost, damaged, or subject to theft as a result of the Customer’s failure to properly secure the items, secure the box or storage container, or otherwise fail to comply with these Terms and Conditions. You agree and acknowledge that Dorm Storage LLC is not responsible for damage to (i) items that are broken inside of a box or storage container without visible damage to the box or storage container, (ii) fragile items, (iii) items that have collapsed or exploded due to the box breaking during transport from improper packing, (iv) minor damage due to normal handling, (v) damage caused by events outside of the control of Dorm Storage LLC, (vi) oversize items that are not properly wrapped and protected, (vii) boxes or storage containers, and (viii) electronic items that are not stored in the original packing. You further agree and acknowledge that any liability of Dorm Storage LLC for items that are lost, damaged, or subject to theft or any other claims against Dorm Storage LLC arising out of the services provided by Dorm Storage LLC or the Website is limited to One Hundred Fifty Dollars ($150). You agree and acknowledge that is no event are your entitled to any type of damages in excess of One Hundred Fifty Dollars ($150) unless you purchased additional insurance from Dorm Storage LLC.

 

In order to submit a claim for items that are lost, damaged or subject to theft, you must submit a claim in writing on the Website no later than Seventy Two (72) hours after the item was delivered to you. You must also submit pictures of the item that is damaged, lost or subject to theft within the box or storage container at the time of pick up.

PRIVACY

Dorm Storage LLC does not keep or store your information outside of the contractual service period, with the exception of Name , Phone and Email. The information maintained is nnever shared or sold to any third party vendor. This information is retained soley for communication purposes after the contractual service period.
